The Law and the New Testament, Volume 2

This Bible Study Series was produced and created especially by Biblesoft, for use in the PC Study Bible and OneTouch programs. It has been taken from articles and notes written for our Bible Online Study Site, and been adapted for use as an electronic reference work. These studies can be used as a monthly or seasonal Bible study course, or simply to enhance your personal study. Each article, or study, provides in-depth analysis of the Greek (or Hebrew) text of Scripture, along with an extensive examination of the historical and culture background, questions of interpretation, and more!

This is the first volume of the Series on the important (and often poorly understood) subject of The Law and the New Testament—Luke-Acts and Paul's View of the Law, exploring the role and place of the Old Testament Law (Torah) in the early Church, both in the historical narratives of the book of Acts, and in the Pauline Letters. Every relevant passage is discussed and examined, many with extensive notes, looking at the text, historical and religious-cultural background in considerable detail. Special attention is given to Paul's complex (and controversial) discussion of the Law in Galatians and Romans.
(As a special bonus, we also include Patrick Fairbairn's classic work, The Revelation of Law in Scripture, which examines many of the same key Pauline passages)

Both the Study series and the additional notes function as a Commentary in the program, and can be accessed by verse directly under the Commentary menu.
