This Bible Study Series was produced and created especially by Biblesoft, for use in the PC Study Bible and OneTouch programs. It has been taken from articles and notes written for our Bible Study Blog, and been adapted for use as an electronic reference work. Originally created for the Fall of 2017, it is divided into 21 separate studies, and can be used as a monthly or seasonal Bible study course. Each study provides in-depth analysis of the Greek (or Hebrew) text of Scripture, along with an extensive examination of the historical and culture background, questions of interpretation, and more!
This particular series deals with the Sermon-Speeches in the Book of Acts, from the great Pentecost speech of Peter in chapter 2 through the Areopagus speech by Paul in chapter 17. For each sermon-speech, the Greek text is examined in detail, as well as the historical background and literary setting in the narrative. Citations from the Old Testament are careful studied—both the original context and how the passages are interpreted and applied in the Acts speeches. Difficult points of interpretation, theology and historical criticism are dealt with thoroughly. If you have ever had a question about any of these sermon-speeches, you are likely to find it addressed in these studies!
Both the Study series and the additional notes function as a Commentary in the program, and can be accessed by verse directly under the Commentary menu.
We hope that you will find these studies to be rewarding, provocative, and inspiring!
The Berean Bible is a three-tiered study Bible to connect you from a smooth and accurate translation through to the root of the Greek and Hebrew meanings, incorporating three main components:
1. An interlinear Bible to directly follow the Greek and Hebrew texts. 2. A literal translation to take the reader to the core of the Greek and Hebrew meanings. 3. A modern English translation, effective for public reading, memorization, and evangelism.
Each of these components have been integrated for use by Biblesoft. You will find four different versions of the Berean Bible under your "Bibles" menu:
The main Berean Study Bible (Old and New Testaments)
The Berean Literal Bible (New Testament only)
The Berean Literal Bible (with Strongs Numbers)—click or highlight the English word to see the underlying Hebrew/Greek and a definition
The Berean Greek Bible—the Greek of the New Testament
You can access the Berean Interlinear Bible by selecting "Other Interlinears" under the Greek/Hebrew menu ("By verse"). You will be able to compare the Berean Interlinear with any other New Testament Interlinear you have in your library. Double-click any parsing code and see a breakdown of the part of speech and other grammatical elements indicated by the code.
