W. O. E. Oesterley collection: Judaism and the New Testament

William Oscar Emil (W. O. E.) Oesterley (1866-1950) was a leading Anglican theologian and professor of the Old Testament and Hebrew at King's College, London. Born in India, and well-versed in many aspects of ancient and comparative religion, Oesterly is best known today for his comparative studies on Judaism and Christianity. This collection includes four of his best known and influential works on this theme:

• Judaism and Christianity (3 vols), edited by W. O. E. Oesterley, H. Loewe, and E. I. J. Rosenthal
• The Doctrine of Last Things: Jewish and Christian (1908)
• The Evolution of the Messianic Idea: A Study in Comparative Religion (1908)
