The Life of Our Life

This work, by Roman Catholic scholar Henry James Coleridge, The Life of Our Life (1876) is a commentary on the Gospels, arranged in chronological order according to the Life of Jesus. Its chief value, and one that many readers will doubtless find attractive even today, is the emphasis on a Harmony of the Gospels—with all of the key passages set in coordinated parallel columns. Many important critical issues and questions are also addressed, especially from the traditional-conservative goal of harmonizing, as far as possible, some of the apparent discrepancies between the Gospel accounts.
