The ECT Accord (Evangelicals and Catholics Together) and the recent ECT 2 (The Gift of Salvation) calls for unity between the Roman Catholic and evangelical Churches on the basis of a shared faith. After all, we are told, Rome teaches that an individual is saved by faith. But does such a basis for unity really exist? When Rome states that an individual is saved by faith, what exactly does she mean?

In this book, Mr. Webster documents the Roman Catholic teaching of saving faith from the official authoritative sources of the Roman Catholic magisterium. In a time of great confusion as to what Roman Catholicism officially stands for, this book helps clarify the issues. It provides extensive documentation from the writings of Roman Catholic theologian Ludwig Ott, Papal Decrees, The Council of Trent, Vatican I, Vatican II, The Code of Canon Law, The Question and Answer Catholic Catechism and the newly published Catechism of the Catholic Church.
NOTE: This add-on is compatible with PC Study Bible Version 4 and 5. For it to operate, you must have a pre-installed Version 4 or 5 library.

Rome's Saving Faith, January 5, 2009
Reviewer: Jonathan Weingarten (Wantagh, NY United States)
William Webster is one of my favorite authors.  This short book by WW addresses *all* of the things necessary for a RC to be saved (and still nobody is really sure in that system) :(.  While a former Roman Catholic himself he is careful to treat the subjects at hand in a sensitive, yet stgraight forward and factual manner.  His objective approach to historical facts and knowledge on the Early Church Fathers has really enlightened me in my personal research on this subject as WW seeks to hear the ECF's in their own light and their own voices. As an owner of the writings of the Early Church Fathers I have checked his references and he is right on insofar as presenting them in context.  I hope to see his book "The Church of Rome at the Bar of History" available soon from Biblesoft as it too is a valuable resource particularly as it draws from lots of church history and the writings of the Early Fathers who happened to be very Protestant in their theology.  Excellent work brother William.
